NYC album product picks

Back in May I want to New York City with my Mother-in law, sister-in law and my mom. We had the best trip and NYC will always have a special place in our hearts! I did a little post about it HERE. I knew the whole time that I would make a whole album (maybe not WHOLE album) to document our fun trip. So here are most of the products that I have set aside to use.
Pretty much all my embellishment, photos, and letter stickers are kept in this box from Ikea (its an old one). Im really liking that everything that I would need is here and I dont have to go look for something that would work. Let take a closer look at whats inside.

Here are some of the letter stickers I have pulled out for this collection. I must admit I have gone back to my stash and used other ones. But thats something I let myself do because I knew not all these would work for all the layouts and I would eventually run out of letters.

This is what I call the "sticker" embellishments  its a mix of different company's and collections but they work well with the paper I have picked. It seems like a lot, but I noticed that I don't really use that many stickers, so I'm really hopping to make a dent in my stash and push myself to use what I have.

This is what I call the "small" embellishments. Mostly brads and stamps, and cameras! I love the way Shimell.com has a repeating "theme" going through her travel album, and thats craft cardstock and cameras, even though all the papers are different. My papers are pretty much the same through out the album but I just LOVE all the camera motif out there right now and I wanted to take advantage and add it to my NYC album too.

This is the washi Tape I'm hoping to add in my pages. I too many that i don't use and would love to add more of it in my pages. And Polaroid frames and some old Amy Tangerine product im hoping to use up.

These are the large chip board and sticker sheets that came with the papers I'm using. I love everything about them!

Along with the paper these I did not put in the Ikea-box-of-goodness I was worried that the cut-aparts would get lost or forgotten with the other fun embellishments I had pulled out so it has its own little tray.

Last but not least, the paper! The main paper I'm working with is Crate paper "story teller" collection. Then I added Simple stores called Urban traveler, and also pulled out an older collection by Basic grey but don't remember the name.

And all that's left is my Photos and memorabilia, these live in the Ikea box.
Hope you come back soon and see what I'll be doing with all this pretty product! As of right now I have 12 layouts! Yay! I've been working hard and has so much fun! I'll be post more soon!

I scream- layout

Just a fun layout to share with you this time. I scraplifted it, but im not sure where I've seen it. sorry. I used Crate Paper "the Pier". Its such a cute collection that I was a bit scared to use any of it. So I went looking for inspiration and Ideas, and came across this little page and thought 'isnt this just the best use of protect and a great way to get the brain going'. so here we are, looking at another scraplifed layout. I must by a scrap lifted Queen or something ;)

Triple wedding- layout

Im not sure if I've mentioned before but I've decided to make an album about my families past, Weddings, people, big events and important storys to tell. I want my kids to know about their great grandparents and aunts and uncles and the life they lived so that we could be thankful for what we have. This is one for the many pages I hope to make in the near future. This layout is about my Aunts and Uncle that decided to have a triple wedding. 2 of the uncles (my moms side) are twins, they married sisters, and the other couple is a sister to the twins. Its kinda crazy considering that they are christians, in the 80s, and in a communist country. I have to get more details from my mom but I just love the photos and think its something I want to tell my kids about.

Feb. S.C KIT.

Here is what I've made using the Studio Calico Kit for the month of Feb (and yes its WAY past Feb, its a late post). I believe I scap-lifted most of these layouts but tell you the truth I couldn't get into this kit! I had such a hard time working with it that I just recently finally took it apart and said i'm done! I hate doing that because I know if I really, really push my self I can get over that block and challenge myself in a different way. but every time I look at the all that I have left and I make a face and just have no desire to challenge myself with these products and colors. I think for me its mostly the color combo that drives me away and in the end I'm perfectly happy with what I've made and that now I don't have a burden on me to finish a kit or use up product i don't have any attraction to. some time its OK to just give up.

Play dress up -layout

This page was inspired by navy blue floral die cut by Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm collection. I've seen another scrapbooker piece together colorful scraps of paper to give the die cut some life. I had to try out the same design. I must say it was harder then it seemed. since the die cut it quite delicate and small design I wanted to make sure it looked good with the right colors. For the rest of the layout I used the Neapolitan collection by Dear Lizzy. And since the floral design was so busy I tried to keep the rest of the page on the simpler side.

lazy morning- layout

I'm so excited to share this layout with you! I made it a while back while we were still living with our In-laws but haven't had the chance to share it. I love the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection but don't really have the chance to scrapbook "girlie" events and people. So whenever I get a photo  or idea I try to use it right away with the collections that have more Pink in them. This is where this page came from. I was really inspired by all the layouts using cut-out Polaroids on pop dots in rows and columns.  This collection has some really cute mason jars (which I love) so I put the two together and this layout came to life! It took me a while to figure out the spacing for the jars, but after that was just playing with layers. Once I was done i felt as though it was a bit unfinished  so I add the grey and white twine around the edge and added it around the photos. I'm so happy with the end page.

Ben's bday layout pt4

Last but not least the last 2 layouts of my sons 1st bday party. For this layout I guess I could have printed these photos smaller and made just one page layout or even added more photos but I print my photos all at once at walmart. So they are all the same size. And most of the time I really don't want to reprint them at home at a smaller size and stress over how small or big they should be. So like this and many other pages I'll have a lot of pix. This layout I believe is by shimelle.com. And again I haven't done the journaling.

Ben's bday layout pt3

This is my 3rd layout that's a 2 page spread. its a bit more silly for the fact that its all the photos from the photo booth we had at my sons 1st bday party. And I decided to make the 2nd page just covered with photos. Also not shown in these photos I added a 6x12 page protector to add more silly photos of my family and guest!

Ben's bday layout pt2

I had a lot of fun making this simple and easy layout. I used the Fancy Pants "Down by the shore" collection. And printed at home a strip of photos of my son eating his cake. After putting the whole page together I left like the bottom half was a bit plan and boring. So I found some vellum Polaroid frames and added them with some mini staplers. I was so pleased with the way it turned out! Under my title I plan to have some journaling. Sadly i always leave that to the end, or write it way later.

Did I mention...

Did I mention that we moved in?! Yikes! that's right, our own place! The day has finally come! We are still living out of boxes, but that's nothing new, we've been doing that for the past 9 months! yep, it took us 9 months but we are IN!

I was so excited yesterday (Saturday) we got our oven and dishwasher! We moved in on Tuesday night and since then we've been cooking on the grill and the microwave! I'm really looking forward to making some yummy meals and trying out new recipes! The dishwasher isn't hooked up yet but I don't mind hand washing my dishes. Only problem is that our sink isn't hooked up either! So I wash everything in the bathroom sink. lol. Things we do for our own space. We're home owners now so everything is on us now!

We even "hosted" our first "party" the same week we moved it. We had a few family and friends come over for the 4th of July. Our plan all along was to move in by the 4th so we could have fireworks. See the area my in-laws live, fireworks are not allowed, but where we live now they are, and my hubby really wanted to be able to have some fun and blow some stuff up! It was a good night, we grilled (of course) and sat outside in the not-so-sunny-Washington weather but it was warm. Ben did so good during the fireworks! I couldn't believe it! He was tired but he sat with me the whole time, even enjoyed the fire we had afterword's. Hope every one is having a great weekend, and have many wonderful memories of the 4th of July 2013!
